Creating shapes out of the stick men bodies to communicate what the final shot will denote.

Image below: the models shapes have created a visually intimate shot communicating protection. The models' skin tone contrast adds visual variety for the audience along with the visual gesture codes.

Through my sketches I wanted to portray the jacket and scarf's unique textures and vibrant colours through my collage of materials.
IMG_7807[1].png
For each outfit i coordinated a specific hair style and make up look, complementing the chosen colour palette for this 70s era jacket. I created a sleek, swooped hair style and added a bright pop of auburn red to the eyes.

Close up shots and extreme close ups are very intimate shots allowing you too see the clear emotion communicated. In this photo his brown eyes are reflecting and complimenting the softer yellow tones of the corn and his darker, deeper hair tones.

Examples of working with light and shade using natural light, highlighting the face and clothing and emphasizing the soft and harsh aspects of the clothing and faces.

Materials: when translating my photos into collage form before or after a shoot, I like to consider the selected materials that were used and show their contrasts whilst appreciating the different messages they communicate e.g. the coarseness of denim or the soft reflective silk, which shows a prominent colour under different lighting conditions.

All three models complement each other. Their visual diversity is engaging for the audience. I placed importance on the shape the three made together. I used a subtlety of physical contact between them, whilst bringing them together as one.

I enjoyed incorporating this horse into the shot as its brown tones really complemented the palette I wanted. In a very natural setting my model's brown knit fits in effortlessly and I chose a messy "three swoop" hair look to contrast the harsh straightness of the horse's mane. I also like the relationship between the red ring and the horse's eye purposefully caused by the flash of the camera.

Model shot in water in dramatic red dress: I like the contrast between the colours. I chose this to look like blood when it hits water, effortlessly floating and mixing. I think this dress communicates this perfectly. If I was to do a shoot like this again I would want to capture movement underwater to enhance the dress.
